Privacy Notice

Fandom Shelf ("we", "us") is the data controller for personal data collected through this service. This notice explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

• Account data: email address, login credentials, display name and avatar (if provided).
• Library content: the story metadata, notes, tags, collections and reading progress you choose to save.
• Preferences: theme, notification and reminder settings.
• Communications: messages you send us via the in-app feedback form.
• Technical data: IP address, device and browser information, and basic usage telemetry needed to operate the service.

Fandom Shelf is free to use. We do not collect or store payment information.

• To create and maintain your account (legal basis: performance of a contract).
• To provide the reading tracker, sync, and notification features you use (contract).
• To send transactional emails such as sign-in links and reminders you opted into (contract / consent).
• To prevent fraud, abuse and security incidents (legitimate interests).
• To improve the product through aggregated, non-identifying usage analysis (legitimate interests).
• To respond to your support and feedback messages (legitimate interests).
• To comply with legal obligations (legal obligation).

• Hosting and infrastructure providers who store and process data on our behalf to run the service.
• Email delivery providers for sending transactional and reminder emails.
• Professional advisers (e.g. legal, accounting) where strictly necessary.
• Authorities where required by law or to protect our rights.

We do not sell your personal data.

Our providers may process data outside your country of residence, including in the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.

We keep your account and library data for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise associated personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it to comply with legal obligations (for example, tax records held by a payment processor in connection with any past purchase).

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent. EU/UK residents also have the right to lodge a complaint with their local supervisory authority. We aim to respond to requests within one month.

To exercise these rights, use the "Send feedback" option in Settings. You can also export your library at any time from Settings → Your library.

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, access controls and audit logging. No system is ever 100% secure, so we encourage you to use a strong, unique password.

We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences (such as theme), and operate core features of the app. We do not use advertising cookies. Your browser's settings let you clear or block these at any time, although doing so will impact functionality such as staying signed in.

Fandom Shelf is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). If you believe a child has provided us personal data without consent, please contact us so we can remove it.

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest version.
